Julia Kelly Guest Blogger: Frindle
My name is Julia Kelly and I am 8 years old. Thank you for letting me write on your blog. I really love to read. The book Frindle is about a boy who is a sort of troublemaker, and who makes up a new word "Frindle." Everyone starts using it instead of the word "pen." The grammar teacher does not approve of the new word. She would rather use the word Pen. Although the school principal doesn't like it, the boy's parents think it is creative. People start selling t-shirts and pens with the word "Frindle" on them. I recommend the book Frindle because it is creative of a little boy to make up a word like this and the end is a surprise! Andrew Clements also wrote Lost and Found which is another good book. Happy Reading!

Neo Leo The Ageless Ideas of Leonardo di Vinci

Neo Leo The Ageless Ideas of Leonardo di Vinci by Gene Barretta
Leonardo invented the first movie, put the candle in the box and the picture comes out. He might have designed a bicycle. There are old fashioned bicycles in the pictures. He designed a helicopter. I wish I went to his house. I love the part about steam. I think other kids would like this book.
